Abateline — Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-06-18 · Last updated 2026-06-18

The short version: everything you put into Abateline — your inspections, citations, written objections, abatement steps, and any photos you take of a cited condition or your fix — stays on your iPhone. There is no Abateline account and no Abateline server. The only time the app uses the network is to ask Apple's StoreKit whether your subscription is active.

Who makes Abateline

Abateline is built by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F). You can reach us anytime at captainlongevity@gmail.com.

Your questions, answered plainly

Where do my citation and abatement records live?

On your iPhone, in this app's local SwiftData store, and nowhere else. We never receive them. There is no cloud account behind Abateline, so there is nothing on our side to read, lose, or hand to anyone — including OSHA.

The app can attach photos. Where do my photos go?

On the Pro tier, Abateline can attach a photo of a cited condition or your completed correction directly to that citation or abatement record — either taken with the camera or picked from your own photos. Those photos are saved inside the app's own local storage on your iPhone, as part of the record they belong to. They are for your reference only. They are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never sent to OSHA, OSHRC, or any agency. A photo is added only at the moment you tap to attach one to a record.

Does Abateline read my Photo Library?

No. To pick an existing photo, Abateline uses Apple's system photo picker, which runs outside the app: the app does not request Photo Library access, never shows a Photo Library permission prompt, and receives only the specific photos you choose. It is not a file library or a document manager — a photo in Abateline is simply a leaf of a citation or an abatement, not something you organize separately.

Do you collect analytics, crash logs, or an advertising identifier?

No. There is no analytics framework, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier in the app. We cannot tell how often you open it, which citations you log, how many photos you attach, or whether you subscribed — beyond Apple's standard aggregate sales reports.

Does the app contact OSHA, OSHRC, or my state plan?

No. Abateline files nothing, contests nothing, and checks nothing on your behalf. The OSHA standard sections, citation-classification meanings, and OSHRC contest-procedure material in the Reference tab are bundled lookup content shipped inside the app and updated through ordinary App Store releases. The app makes no API call to any government system.

Does my data go to iCloud or my Apple ID?

Abateline declares no iCloud entitlement and has no sync. Your records and photos are included in your normal iOS Backups (iCloud Backup or Finder/iTunes) when you have those turned on — that is Apple's standard backup behavior for on-device data, not an Abateline feature.

What the app keeps on your device

All of this is covered by your iOS Backups when enabled. We hold no copy. If you delete Abateline without an iOS Backup available, the records and attached photos cannot be recovered — there is no remote copy to restore from.

System features the app can use

Subscriptions and StoreKit

Abateline offers an optional Pro tier (an annual subscription and a one-time Lifetime purchase) through Apple's StoreKit 2. When you subscribe, restore, or when the app checks your entitlement, your device talks directly to Apple. Abateline receives only the entitlement status and a purchase identifier — never your Apple ID, payment method, or billing details. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Permissions Abateline asks for

Revoke any of these anytime in iOS Settings > Abateline. The app requests no Photo Library, microphone, location, contacts, or HealthKit access.

What Abateline is not

Abateline is a personal recordkeeping and reminder tool for small-business employers. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OSHA, OSHRC, or any government agency, and it is not affiliated with any EHS consultancy or law firm. It uses no government logo or mark, does not decide whether a citation is valid or how a contest will come out, files nothing on your behalf, and gives no legal advice. The OSHA-standard and OSHRC references are publicly available material provided for general information only.

Children

Abateline is a business tool for U.S. adults who own or operate a business. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Keeping or deleting your data

Because everything lives only on your device, you are in full control. To remove all Abateline data, delete the app (and remove it from any iOS Backups you have saved). There is no remote copy for us to delete.

Where this applies

Abateline is published in English and offered in the United States; its reference content is U.S.-specific (federal OSHA, OSHRC, and the 28 state plans). The app moves your data nowhere, so there is no international transfer to describe.

Changes

If a future release ever changes how the app handles data — for example if a later version introduced any sync, analytics, or third-party integration — we will update this policy and surface the change in the app before that feature ships. The date above reflects the latest revision.
