Acrewood Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-06-02 · Last updated: 2026-06-02

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Acrewood (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); "we," "us," and "our" mean that developer.

2. What Acrewood is — and what it is not

Acrewood is a personal recordkeeping tool for family woodland owners. You enter information about your own land: you organize it into stands, log management activities (thinning, harvest, prescribed burn, replant, TSI, inspections, cost-share) across the years, browse a reference of state forest-tax programs, optionally add deadlines to your iPhone Calendar, track written management-plan goals, and generate a management-history PDF for your own use.

Acrewood is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state forestry agency, the USDA Forest Service, the American Tree Farm System, MyLandPlan, or any other organization. It is not a map or GIS tool, provides no forestry, legal, or tax advice, files and approves no management plan, and enrolls you in no program. The 50-state forest-tax program content is general information drawn from publicly available state regulations; programs and deadlines change, so verify with your state forestry agency or tax assessor. Timber-sale and cost amounts you enter are your own records — the App performs no tax, cost-basis, or capital-gain calculation; for tax matters, including IRS Section 631, consult a CPA.

3. Subscriptions and the Pro tier

3.1 Free tier

The App is free to download and use, with the following limits: one woodland with up to two stands, the full management-activity log, the full 50-state forest-tax program reference (browseable), and one deadline reminder. App Lock (Face ID) is included free for all users.

3.2 Pro tier

Pro features unlock when you start the Pro subscription or complete the Lifetime purchase. Two products are offered:

Both products unlock the identical Pro feature set. Prices shown are USD; Apple displays the equivalent local price at purchase time. There is no monthly product.

3.3 Auto-renewal and billing (Annual only)

The Annual subscription automatically renews until canceled. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before that end. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iOS device. Refunds for the unused portion of an active period are not offered by us; refund eligibility is determined solely by Apple under its published policies. The Lifetime purchase is a single charge with no recurring billing.

3.4 Free trial forfeiture

If you start the 7-day free trial on Annual and cancel during the trial, you keep Pro access through the end of the trial and are not charged. If you do not cancel, your subscription begins at the end of the trial at the published price.

4. Pro features

Pro provides the following features. The behavior described here is binding on us — if a future App update materially changes any of these descriptions, we will revise this section.

4.1 App Lock (Free)

App Lock is a Free feature that uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework (Face ID or device passcode) to gate access to the App. Biometric data never leaves Apple's Secure Enclave; the App receives only a success/failure result. App Lock can be enabled or disabled in Settings > Privacy at any time.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, through Apple, for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, missed filing or inspection deadlines, program disenrollment, a lower timber-sale price, tax outcomes, or any compliance outcome. Reference content is a tool for your use; we do not guarantee that any agency, buyer, inspector, or court will accept or be bound by it.

7. Apple End User License Agreement

Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for licensed applications, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms govern as between you and us; the Apple EULA governs as between you and Apple.

8. Trademarks

All organization and agency names referenced in the App and in this document — including but not limited to the USDA Forest Service, the American Tree Farm System (ATFS), state forestry agencies, and the named state forest-tax programs — belong to their respective holders. Acrewood is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any listed entity.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App on next launch. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
