Downloading or using Carcept (the "App") means you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, do not use the App. Carcept is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); "we," "us," and "our" refer to that developer.
Carcept is a personal recordkeeping tool for a consumer whose vehicle has been repossessed. You enter your own account of each repossession event, mark what you observed on a breach-of-peace checklist, list the personal property that was in the vehicle and track whether it has been returned, read a plain-language reference to UCC 9-609 and state repossession rules, and — on Pro — generate an evidence timeline PDF and a personal-property recovery demand letter for your own use.
The App is free to download and use. The free tier lets you record up to 10 items (repossession events plus follow-up communications), each carrying the full breach-of-peace checklist, the personal-property inventory, and the complete UCC 9-609 / 50-state reference, along with a read-only timeline. App Lock is free for everyone.
Pro unlocks when you start the subscription or complete the Lifetime purchase. Two products are offered:
Both unlock the same Pro feature set. Prices are in USD; Apple shows the local equivalent at purchase. There is no monthly product.
The Annual subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends unless auto-renewal is switched off at least 24 hours before that point. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel under Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device. We do not issue refunds for an unused portion of a period; refund eligibility rests solely with Apple under its policies. The Lifetime purchase is a single charge with no recurring billing.
If you start the 14-day trial and cancel before it ends, you keep Pro through the end of the trial and are not charged. If you do not cancel, the subscription begins at the end of the trial at the published price.
The descriptions below bind us — if a future update materially changes one, we will revise this section.
App Lock is a free feature using Apple's LocalAuthentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode) to gate access to the App. Biometric data never leaves Apple's Secure Enclave; the App receives only a pass/fail result. Toggle it in Settings > Privacy at any time.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, through Apple, in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, a missed deadline, an unrecovered vehicle or property, or any legal or financial outcome. The reference content and generated documents are tools for your own use; we do not guarantee that any attorney, agency, or court will accept or be bound by them.
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. If these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, these Terms govern between you and us; the Apple EULA governs between you and Apple.
Any organization or agency names that appear in the App or this document — including the CFPB, the FTC, the National Association of Consumer Advocates, and any state agency — belong to their respective owners. Carcept is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of them.
We may revise these Terms over time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App on next launch, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in courts located in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect intellectual-property rights.
