We do not collect, transmit, store on a server, sell, share, or analyze:
All case data you enter is stored locally on your iOS device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Photos are stored either inline with the event record (small files) or as files in the app's sandboxed container (larger files). This data is included in your iCloud or iTunes device backup if you have device backup enabled. We do not have access to your device backups; only Apple does, under their published privacy terms.
When you import a photo into the Evidence Vault via Apple's PhotosPicker, the app reads the photo's original EXIF capture date and, when present, its GPS coordinates, and stores them locally with the associated event. This is done to preserve evidence integrity — the original capture timestamp and location can be material to a legal matter. EXIF data is never transmitted off-device. You can review the extracted date and location in the event detail screen at any time.
Several Pro features process data locally on your device only:
CaseKeep does not use any AI, machine learning model, large language model, or similar technology. Your case details, communications, and legal strategy are never analyzed, summarized, embedded, or transmitted to any AI service.
CaseKeep offers an optional Pro subscription via Apple's StoreKit 2. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app verifies your entitlement, your device communicates directly with Apple's servers. CaseKeep receives only the entitlement status (active or inactive) and a purchase identifier. We do not see your Apple ID, payment method, billing address, or transaction history. Apple's handling of subscription information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings > CaseKeep.
Case data in CaseKeep is among the most sensitive personal data a user can hold — it can include litigation strategy, communications with counsel, evidence, financial records, and medical information. We built the app specifically so that none of it ever leaves your device. If a future version of the app were to add an opt-in cloud, backup, or sharing feature, we would update this policy and surface the change in the app before you can enable that feature.
CaseKeep is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. The app's age rating reflects this.
Because all data is stored only on your device, you control retention completely. To delete all case data, delete the app from your device. There is no remote copy for us to delete.
The app does not transfer your data internationally because it does not transfer your data anywhere. The app is published in English and is primarily marketed in North America.
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and surface the change in the app before you can use any newly changed feature. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
