ChoreCycle Privacy Policy

Thank you for using ChoreCycle (the "App"), a household chore rotation planner for iOS. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your data.

1. Data Collection & Storage

The App does not collect, upload, or transmit any personal data to remote servers. All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple SwiftData.

• Household information, member names, and chore schedules are stored only on your device
• Chore rotation history and completion records are stored only on your device
• Widget data is shared on-device via App Group and never leaves your device
• The App has no backend servers, no cloud sync, and no remote database
• The App requires no registration, no login, and no user account

2. Permissions

The App may request the following device permission:

• Notifications - Used to send daily chore reminders. This permission is optional. The App functions fully without granting notification permission.

The App does not request access to your camera, photos, location, contacts, microphone, or any other device capabilities.

3. Analytics & Tracking

The App does not use any analytics frameworks, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or third-party SDKs that collect user data. We do not track your usage behavior, location, or any other personal information.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services that collect or process your data. The only external framework used is Apple's StoreKit 2 for in-app purchases (see below).

5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

The App uses Apple's StoreKit 2 framework to offer subscription plans. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or transaction details beyond what Apple provides to developers through standard StoreKit APIs (such as transaction verification).

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• You can delete individual households, members, or chores at any time within the App
• Deleting the App removes all associated data from your device
• There are no remote copies of your data to delete, as no data is ever transmitted off your device

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. While children may appear as household members in the App, all such data is entered by the parent or guardian and stored only on the local device.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
