Franchwell is built and published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F). Questions about this policy go to captainlongevity@gmail.com.
You never create an account, sign in, or give an email address. Because there is no server, the developer never receives, stores, or has any way to see your franchise relationship, your FDD-gap entries, your dispute log, your communications, or your photos. They exist in the app's local database on your device and nowhere else.
All of this is stored on your device only. It is included in your standard iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a Finder/computer backup) when you have one enabled — that is Apple's normal behavior for on-device data, not a Franchwell feature, and the developer has no access to those backups. If you delete Franchwell and have no backup, the records cannot be recovered, because no copy exists anywhere else.
Franchwell can attach photos to your FDD-gap and dispute entries so a breach-notice letter, an encroaching company store, or an FDD comparison can sit alongside the record. You may capture a photo with the camera or pick one from your photo library; both are optional, and the app works fully without either. Any photo you add is stored in the app's local database on your device and is shown only inside Franchwell and in the PDFs you generate. Photos are never uploaded. Franchwell does not browse your photo library and reads only the specific images you select.
Franchwell does not import PDFs or other files and has no document vault. Photos attached to a record are the only kind of attachment, and they exist only as part of that record — there is no separate file library, no bulk import, and no in-app export or backup of your data as a whole. The one document the app produces is the dispute PDF you generate on demand, which is handed to the iOS share sheet for you to send wherever you choose.
The built-in reference (the FTC Franchise Rule, the 23 FDD disclosure items, and state franchise-investment law) is content bundled inside the app and updated through ordinary App Store releases. It is drawn from publicly available U.S. government regulations and is reference material only. Deadline counting and the FDD-gap and dispute organization run entirely on your device with plain, rule-based logic. Franchwell runs no machine-learning model on your records and sends nothing about them anywhere.
Franchwell makes no calls to any franchisor, the FTC, the International Franchise Association, any state franchise regulator, or any other external data source. It contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier. The developer does not know how often you open the app, which screens you visit, how many records you keep, or whether you subscribed, except through Apple's standard aggregate sales reports. The only time the app uses the network is for Apple's StoreKit (see section 9).
aps-environment entitlement.Franchwell offers an optional Pro tier (a monthly and an annual subscription) through Apple's StoreKit 2. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app checks your entitlement, your device talks directly to Apple's servers. Franchwell receives only whether your subscription is active and a purchase identifier; it never sees your Apple ID, payment method, billing address, or transaction history. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy.
You can change any of these at any time in iOS Settings > Franchwell. The app requests no location, no microphone, no contacts, no HealthKit, and no tracking permission.
Franchwell is a personal record-keeping and reference tool for franchisees. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any franchisor, franchise brand, the FTC, or any franchise organization. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice or representation, does not determine whether a breach has occurred, and does not predict arbitration outcomes. Its references to franchise law are based on publicly available regulatory content and are reference-only; for advice about your situation, consult a franchise attorney.
Franchwell is a business tool intended for U.S. adults who operate a franchised business. It is not directed to children, and the developer does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Because every record lives only on your device, you control retention completely: to remove all Franchwell data, delete the app (and remove it from any backups you keep). There is no remote copy for anyone to delete. Franchwell is published in English for the United States, and its reference content is U.S.-specific; it transfers your data nowhere because it transfers your data at all to no one.
If a future release ever changes how the app handles data — for example, if a later version introduced any sync, analytics, or third-party integration — this policy would be updated and the change surfaced in the app before that feature became available. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
