GameLease Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-06-02 · Last updated: 2026-06-02

The short version. GameLease keeps your hunting-lease records — lessees, recorded payments, harvest reports, and insurance and renewal dates — on your iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no GameLease account, no GameLease server, and no analytics. The only time the app reaches the network is to ask Apple's StoreKit servers whether you have purchased Pro. GameLease never processes a payment, never runs a background check, and is not a marketplace.

1. Who publishes GameLease

GameLease is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F). For any privacy question, write to captainlongevity@gmail.com.

2. The privacy promise, answered as questions

Is there a GameLease server holding my lease records?

No. There is no GameLease server. Your leases, recorded payments, harvest reports, and insurance and renewal dates live in this app's local SwiftData store on your iPhone. We cannot read them, restore them, or move them.

Does GameLease handle the rent my lessees pay me?

No. The rent and payment figures are numbers you type in for your own record. GameLease does not process, hold, transmit, or move any money. There is no payment SDK, no card processing, and no escrow. It is a notebook, not a wallet.

Does GameLease screen, verify, or run a background check on hunters?

No. A lessee's name is a contact label you enter. GameLease performs no background check and no identity verification, and stores no Social Security number, no background data, and no financial-account data about anyone.

Do you collect analytics, crash logs, or an advertising identifier?

No. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier in the app. We do not know how often you open it, how many leases you keep, or whether you subscribed — except through Apple's standard, aggregate developer sales reports.

Does GameLease know where my land is?

No. A parcel or area is free text you type, such as "North 80 acres." GameLease uses no location services, no GPS, and no maps. It requests no location permission and records no coordinates.

How does the 50-state liability reference work?

Entirely on your iPhone. The recreational-use liability statute reference and the season and harvest-report deadlines are bundled lookup content we update through ordinary App Store releases, drawn from publicly available state regulations. Nothing about a lookup is sent anywhere. The content is general reference only and is not legal advice.

Does anything go to my iCloud or Apple ID?

No. GameLease does not declare the iCloud entitlement; there is no CloudKit container and no remote sync. Your records are included in your standard iOS Backups (iCloud Backup or Finder backup) when those are enabled — that is Apple's normal backup behavior for all on-device data, not a GameLease feature.

3. What the app stores on your device

This data is included in your standard iOS Backups when you have those enabled. We do not have access to your iOS Backups — only Apple does, under their published terms. If you delete the app without an iOS Backup, your data is permanently lost. There is no in-app data export, import, or backup feature beyond PDF generation.

4. On-device features that touch system frameworks

5. In-app purchase and StoreKit

GameLease offers an optional Pro tier as a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase via Apple's StoreKit 2. When you buy Pro, restore a purchase, or when the app verifies your entitlement, your device communicates directly with Apple's servers. GameLease receives only the entitlement status (purchased or not) and a purchase identifier. We do not see your Apple ID, payment method, billing address, or transaction history. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Permissions the app requests

You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings > GameLease. GameLease requests no camera, no microphone, no photo library, no location, no HealthKit, and no contacts permission.

7. What GameLease is not

GameLease is a personal recordkeeping and reminder tool for landowners who lease their land to hunters. It is not a marketplace and does not list, find, advertise, or broker leases. It does not process payments and holds no funds. It does not perform background checks or verify any person. It does not provide legal or tax advice; the recreational-use statute references are general information drawn from publicly available regulations, and the Schedule E income summary simply totals the figures you recorded. Consult an attorney for liability and lease questions and a CPA for tax matters.

8. Children's privacy

GameLease is a tool intended for U.S. adults who lease land they own. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

9. Data retention and deletion

Because all data is stored only on your device, you control retention completely. To delete all GameLease data, delete the app (and remove it from any iOS Backups you have saved). There is no remote copy for us to delete.

10. Regional scope

GameLease is published in English and marketed in the United States. The reference data (state recreational-use statutes and season deadlines) is U.S.-specific. The app does not transfer your data internationally because it does not transfer your data anywhere.

11. Changes to this policy

If a future release ever changes how the app handles data — for example, if a later version ever introduces any sync, analytics, or third-party integration — we will update this policy and surface the change in the app before that feature becomes available. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
