GlucoCompanion is published by Flint Software, an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F). For any privacy question, write to captainlongevity@gmail.com.
Do you have a server that holds my diabetes records?
No. There is no GlucoCompanion server. Your Diabetes Profile, PA encounters, manufacturer PAP applications, appeal deadlines, and notes live in this app's local SwiftData store on your iPhone. We cannot read them, restore them, or transfer them.
Do you read my CGM, glucose, insulin, or carb data?
Only if you turn on Health Integration in Settings, and only with iOS HealthKit's explicit permission prompt. Even then, the data is read for display only — never transmitted, never persisted outside HealthKit itself, never interpreted. GlucoCompanion does not predict glucose, calculate insulin doses, count carbs as medical advice, or interpret time-in-range. If you never turn the toggle on, the app never reads HealthKit.
Do you collect analytics, crash logs, or device identifiers?
No. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier in the binary. We do not know how often you open the app, which screens you visit, or whether you have a paid subscription unless we look up your purchase via Apple's standard developer reports.
Do you use AI?
No. No machine learning, no large language model, no cloud processing. Every Reference Mapper entry (Medicare LCD, Medicaid 50-state, manufacturer PAP eligibility) is bundled data, updated by us through standard App Store releases. The Appeal Deadline Calculator runs deterministic rule-based logic from published federal and state regulations.
Do you talk to my insurance carrier, my doctor, or any government agency?
No. GlucoCompanion makes no API calls to Aetna, BCBS, UnitedHealth, Cigna, Humana, Kaiser, CMS, your state Medicaid agency, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, Dexcom, Tandem, Insulet, or anyone else. All references to those organizations are bundled lookup content.
This data is included in your standard iOS Backups (iCloud Backup or Finder/iTunes encrypted backup) when you have those enabled. We do not have access to your iOS Backups — only Apple does, under their published privacy terms. If you delete the app without an iOS Backup, your data is permanently lost. There is no in-app data export, import, or backup feature.
GlucoCompanion offers an optional Pro subscription (Annual + Lifetime) via Apple's StoreKit 2. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app verifies your entitlement, your device communicates directly with Apple's servers. GlucoCompanion receives only the entitlement status (active or inactive) and a purchase identifier. We do not see your Apple ID, payment method, billing address, or transaction history. Apple's handling of subscription information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can revoke any permission at any time. Face ID and Notifications: iOS Settings > GlucoCompanion. HealthKit: open the Health app > Sharing > Apps > GlucoCompanion.
GlucoCompanion is a personal records organizer. It is not a glucose tracker, an FDA Class II medical device, an endocrinologist, a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), an insurance attorney, or a government benefits worker. The app does not provide medical, legal, or insurance advice. References to Medicare LCD/NCD criteria, Medicaid state policies, manufacturer PAP eligibility, and ERISA/Medicare/Medicaid appeal procedures are based on publicly available documentation and are reference-only.
GlucoCompanion is intended for U.S. adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. The app's age rating reflects this.
Because all data is stored only on your device, you control retention completely. To delete all GlucoCompanion data, delete the app from your device (and remove it from any iOS Backups you have saved). There is no remote copy for us to delete.
GlucoCompanion is published in English and is primarily marketed in the United States. The reference data (Medicare, Medicaid 50-state, manufacturer PAPs) is U.S.-specific. The app does not transfer your data internationally because it does not transfer your data anywhere.
If a future release ever changes how the app handles data — for example, if we add an opt-in cloud backup feature in a later version — we will update this policy and surface the change in the app before that feature becomes available. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
