By downloading or using HomeschoolLog (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); references to "we," "us," and "our" mean that developer.
HomeschoolLog is a personal record-keeping tool for homeschool families. You enter information about your students' attendance, activities, portfolio, reading, and courses; the App helps you organize that information and generate reports for your own use, including shareable summaries that must be reviewed against applicable filing requirements.
The App is free to download and use with the following limits: 1 student, 1 school year, up to 8 subjects, unlimited day-level attendance logging, unlimited text-only daily activity entries, a 50-state and DC official-source directory with reviewed summaries where available, and a basic attendance-only PDF report.
Face ID / Touch ID app lock is available without Pro, with device-passcode fallback where supported. It uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework; the App receives only an authentication result and does not receive your biometric data.
Evening attendance reminders and reminders for user-confirmed filing dates in the selected student and active school year are available without Pro. Confirmed-date reminders offer 14-, 7- and 1-day offsets and are off until enabled. They require notification permission and are subject to iOS scheduling; they are not a guarantee of compliance or delivery.
Pro features unlock with an active subscription or a lifetime purchase. The current App offers two options:
Both products unlock the same set of Pro features. Prices shown are USD; Apple displays the equivalent local price at purchase time.
Existing Pro Monthly purchases remain recognized for their active subscription duration and can be restored. Pro Monthly is no longer offered in this version's purchase screen; this change does not itself cancel an existing subscription.
Subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before that end. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iOS device. Refunds for the unused portion of an active period are not offered by HomeschoolLog; refund eligibility is determined solely by Apple under its published policies.
Cancel at least 24 hours before a trial ends to avoid renewal. Apple may end trial access when you cancel. If you do not cancel, the subscription renews at the price shown by Apple.
Pro Lifetime is charged to your Apple ID once at purchase confirmation and provides non-expiring access to the App's Pro features, unless Apple refunds or revokes the purchase. You can restore it using the same Apple ID. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Buying Lifetime does not automatically cancel an existing annual or monthly subscription; manage and cancel that subscription separately through Apple to avoid future subscription charges. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable law.
Pro provides the following features. The behavior described here is binding on us — if a future App update materially changes any of these descriptions, we will revise this section.
Student and school-year deletion is available without Pro, including for archived years. Review the affected records and photos before confirming. Deleting a year keeps other years and the student profile; deleting a student removes that student’s supported school records. These actions are permanent within the App, with no Recently Deleted or import-to-restore workflow. Photo cleanup may be retried after a later launch if a file could not be removed immediately. Original library photos, exported files and earlier device backups remain separate. Available PDF and CSV exports are reference copies, not restorable database backups. An unfinished setup draft is a separate protected local file excluded from device backup.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, through Apple, for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, missed compliance deadlines, rejected portfolio reviews, or disputes with state agencies. Reports generated by the App are tools for your use; we do not guarantee that any state agency, evaluator, or college will accept them.
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for licensed applications, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms govern as between you and us; the Apple EULA governs as between you and Apple.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App on next launch. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
