By downloading or using Hooklog (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); "we," "us," and "our" mean that developer.
Hooklog is a personal crochet tool. You paste or type written crochet patterns you already own, add your own projects, yarn stash, and hooks, and the App organizes them: it parses a pattern into rounds with stitch targets, checks each round's stated count against the math, detects whether the pattern uses US or UK terminology, and lets you count against live targets on a full-screen surface and the Lock Screen. It also matches a pattern's yardage against your stash, tracks your hours, and — for Pro users — computes a suggested price for a finished piece.
The App is free to download and use, with the following limits: 3 active projects (with the full pattern-aware counter and haptics), the pattern parser and stitch-count checker on up to 3 patterns, the US/UK terminology detection badge, 25 stash yarns, your hooks inventory, a project timer, and the Lock Screen counting display. The counter, the stitch-count checker, the terminology detection badge, and the Live Activity display are available to all users and are never gated.
Pro features unlock when you complete the Lifetime purchase or start an Annual or Monthly subscription. Three products are offered:
All three products unlock the identical Pro feature set. Prices shown are USD; Apple displays the equivalent local price at purchase time.
The Annual and Monthly subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before that end. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iOS device. Refunds for the unused portion of an active period are not offered by us; refund eligibility is determined solely by Apple under its published policies. The Lifetime purchase is a single charge with no recurring billing.
If you start the 7-day free trial on Annual and cancel during the trial, you keep Pro access through the end of the trial and are not charged. If you do not cancel, your subscription begins at the end of the trial at the published price.
Pro provides the following features. The behavior described here is binding on us — if a future App update materially changes any of these descriptions, we will revise this section.
Crochet patterns are copyrighted works of their designers. You represent that you have the right to use any pattern you import into Hooklog, and you agree to use the App only to organize and track patterns for your own personal use. Hooklog provides no feature to publish, distribute, or send parsed pattern text to any other person, and you agree not to attempt to use the App to infringe any designer's copyright. Hooklog ships no third-party patterns; the demo patterns included with the App are original works authored for it.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, through Apple, for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost data, wasted yarn, a miscounted or frogged project, or any crafting outcome. The parser, count checker, and stash calculations are tools for your use; we do not guarantee they are correct for every pattern or that you will have enough yarn.
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for licensed applications, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms govern as between you and us; the Apple EULA governs as between you and Apple.
Any brand, yarn, or organization names you enter, and any referenced elsewhere, belong to their respective holders. Hooklog is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any yarn brand, pattern designer, or craft platform.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App on next launch. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
