The app does not collect, transmit, store on a server, sell, share, or analyze:
Every record you create is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. The data is included in your iCloud Backup or your Finder / iTunes backup if you have iOS device backup enabled. Flint Software does not have access to your device backups; only Apple does, under Apple's published privacy terms.
If you turn on HealthKit Integration in Settings > Health Integration, the app reads the following types from HealthKit to display them alongside your gestational-age timeline:
The app does not write to HealthKit, does not transmit HealthKit data, and does not provide clinical interpretation, fetal heart rate prediction, contraction prediction, preeclampsia risk scoring, or NICU risk scoring. All HealthKit values are reference-only; consult your OB-GYN or MFM for clinical decisions. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time from the iOS Health app: Health > Profile > Privacy > Apps > PreemieCompanion.
PreemieCompanion offers an optional Pro subscription via Apple's StoreKit 2. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app verifies your entitlement, your device communicates directly with Apple's servers. PreemieCompanion receives only the entitlement status (active or inactive) and a purchase identifier. Apple's handling of subscription information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you generate a Family Archive Export, the app writes a JSON file plus PDF reports to a location of your choice via the iOS Share Sheet (typically an iCloud Drive shared folder you control, AirDrop, email, or Files). PreemieCompanion does not upload the file anywhere on your behalf. Where the file goes is entirely your choice and the iOS Share Sheet target's responsibility.
The export deliberately excludes the following sensitive fields:
The app does not request Camera, Photo Library, Notifications, Microphone, Location, Contacts, or App Tracking Transparency.
PreemieCompanion is intended for adult users navigating their own pregnancy or supporting a family member's pregnancy. The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Because every record is stored only on your device, you control retention completely. To delete all records, delete the app from your device. There is no in-app data export, import, or backup feature; if you delete the app without an iOS Backup available, the records are permanently lost.
The app is designed for the United States. It is published in English. Medicaid 50-state references and ARPA 12-month postpartum coverage extension status apply to U.S. state regulations. The app does not transfer data internationally because it does not transfer data anywhere.
PreemieCompanion is designed for continuing pregnancy insurance and care coordination. The app does not provide guidance, references, or resources related to abortion access, abortion law, abortion travel, abortion medications, or pregnancy termination. For abortion-related questions, consult your healthcare provider directly.
If a future release changes how the app handles data — for example, if an optional opt-in cloud sync were ever added — this notice would be updated and the change would be surfaced in the app before the feature could be used. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
