Is there a Reeflog server holding my tank data?
No. There is no Reeflog server and no cloud account. Your tanks, test readings, dose records, water changes, maintenance tasks, livestock entries, and photos live in this app's local SwiftData store on your iPhone. We cannot read them, restore them, or move them.
Does the app use iCloud or sync between devices?
No. Reeflog does not declare the iCloud entitlement; there is no CloudKit container and no cross-device sync. Your records are included in your standard iOS Backups (iCloud Backup or a Finder/computer backup) when you have those enabled — that is Apple's normal backup behavior for all on-device data, not a Reeflog feature, and it is how your log survives if you move to a new iPhone.
Do you collect analytics, crash logs, or an advertising identifier?
No. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising identifier in the app. Reeflog does not know how often you open it, which screens you visit, how many tanks you keep, or whether you subscribed — except through Apple's standard, aggregate developer sales reports. Every calculation the app makes is deterministic chemistry math drawn from published reef-chemistry relationships, run entirely on your device.
How does Reeflog work out my dose, consumption, and stability?
Entirely on your iPhone. The dosing engine multiplies the change you need by your tank's net water volume and divides by the potency of the additive you picked (a value you can see and edit); the safe-cap logic splits large corrections across days. Consumption and the Stability Index are derived from your own test and dosing history with plain rule-based math. None of it is sent anywhere, and the additive/salt-mix reference database ships inside the app bundle.
What happens to my photos?
Photos you attach to a tank or a livestock entry are picked with Apple's photo picker, downscaled on-device, and stored inside the app's local storage. They are never uploaded. The app cannot see the rest of your photo library.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — you can export any single tank as a PDF report, generated on-device by Apple's PDFKit and handed to the iOS Share Sheet for you to send wherever you like. There is no bulk cloud export because there is no cloud; the report is built on demand and retained on no server.
This data is included in your standard iOS Backups when you have those enabled. We do not have access to your iOS Backups — only Apple does, under their published privacy terms. If you delete the app without such a backup, your data is permanently lost. There is no in-app bulk export, import, or backup feature beyond the per-tank PDF report.
aps-environment entitlement.Reeflog offers an optional Pro tier (a one-time Lifetime purchase and annual/monthly subscriptions) via Apple's StoreKit 2. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app verifies your entitlement, your device communicates directly with Apple's servers. Reeflog receives only the entitlement status (active or inactive) and a purchase identifier. We do not see your Apple ID, payment method, billing address, or transaction history. Apple's handling of subscription information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings > Reeflog. Reeflog requests no camera, no microphone, no location, no HealthKit, and no contacts permission.
Reeflog is a personal recordkeeping, calculation, and reminder tool for aquarium hobbyists. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any additive, salt, or equipment manufacturer, uses no manufacturer logos, and implies no endorsement. Product names and label potencies appear as factual, user-editable references transcribed from publicly available product labels. The app's dosing suggestions are aquarium water-chemistry calculations for your own tank; they are not veterinary or livestock-health advice and are not a guarantee. Always verify against your product's label and correct large deviations gradually.
Reeflog is a hobbyist tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children — the app collects no personal information from anyone at all.
Because all data is stored only on your device, you control retention completely. To delete all Reeflog data, delete the app (and remove it from any iOS Backups you have saved). There is no remote copy for us to delete.
Reeflog is published in English and marketed in the United States. The app does not transfer your data internationally because it does not transfer your data anywhere.
If a future release ever changes how the app handles data — for example, if a later version ever introduces any sync, analytics, or third-party integration — we will update this policy and surface the change in the app before that feature becomes available. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
