By downloading or using ToneAhead (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. “We,” “us,” and “our” mean the independent developer providing the App.
ToneAhead provides communication coaching. You can ask it to review tentative communication cues, analyze the tone of a message, generate a suggested reply, or rewrite text you provide. You decide whether to initiate each coaching request and remain responsible for what you send and for every message you ultimately communicate.
Only after you grant AI data-sharing permission and request coaching does the App send the text you select, the requested workflow, communication goal, and reply style through the ToneAhead service to DeepSeek to produce the requested result. You can deny or withdraw permission in the App's Settings, which prevents future coaching submissions. DeepSeek may process requests in China and may use provider-managed transient API context caching under its Open Platform terms and policies. Communication cues are AI-generated guidance, not facts or guarantees about another person's intent, feelings, or likely response. The service can be unavailable, rate-limited, or changed for operational, safety, or legal reasons. If a request cannot be completed, the App retains your editor text so you can revise, copy, or use it without a result.
The free experience includes three completed coaching requests per calendar day, the Friendly, Apologetic, and Calm reply styles, and the optional on-device Face Lock. Face Lock is a convenience safeguard and does not replace your responsibility to secure your iPhone and device passcode.
ToneAhead Pro removes the Free plan's three-completed-requests-per-day app limit and adds the Romantic and Professional reply styles through the following auto-renewable subscriptions: ToneAhead Pro Monthly at USD 6.99 per month and ToneAhead Pro Yearly at USD 39.99 per year. Standard security, abuse-prevention, fair-use, and service-wide cost limits continue to apply. Prices may vary by storefront and are displayed by Apple before you confirm a purchase.
Eligible new subscribers who choose ToneAhead Pro Yearly may receive a 7-day free trial when displayed by Apple. Apple determines eligibility, generally once per ToneAhead Pro subscription group. If the trial applies, you will not be charged until it ends. After the trial, Yearly renews at the annual price displayed by Apple unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. ToneAhead Pro Monthly has no introductory offer.
For purchases without a free trial, payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or current billing period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the applicable period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under its applicable policies. If you buy a subscription, any unused portion of a free allowance does not carry forward.
The App, its design, and its software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. You retain your rights in the text you submit. Subject to these Terms, you may use coaching results for your own lawful purposes.
The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from your use of, reliance on, or inability to use the App or its coaching results. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. If these Terms conflict with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA governs the relationship between you and Apple.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will state its effective date. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
