By downloading or using Samplwitt ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F) for use in the United States, in English.
Samplwitt is a private, on-device tool that helps a small-business owner organize a response to a state sales tax audit: log the audit case, organize exemption and resale certificates and sales records, assemble a written objection to the auditor's sampling method, track the protest or redetermination deadline, and export an evidence PDF and a protest-preparation checklist.
Samplwitt is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state department of revenue, tax authority, tax tribunal, tax-consulting service, accounting service, law firm, or government agency. It uses no government logo or mark, calculates no tax, assessment, refund, penalty, or "savings," connects to no bank or financial account, does not decide whether an audit finding is correct, does not predict the outcome of any protest, files nothing on your behalf, and submits records to no government system. It provides no legal, tax, or accounting advice and guarantees no result before any auditor, conciliation conference, tax tribunal, or court. You must pursue any protest or appeal through your state's official process, and you should verify your deadline and that process with your state's department of revenue or tax tribunal — and, where appropriate, with a sales-tax consultant or attorney.
The free tier lets you log audit cases and view the on-screen protest-deadline countdown, organize up to 10 certificates per audit case, each with full detail, view the read-only evidence timeline, browse the bundled state sales-tax and appeal-procedure reference, and use App Lock — at no cost, with no account.
Pro features unlock when you start the Pro subscription or complete the Lifetime purchase. Two products are offered:

The Annual subscription is charged through Apple according to the confirmed plan and any displayed introductory offer and renews automatically under the plan and price confirmed by Apple, including applicable price-change notices unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. The Lifetime purchase does not renew.
An Annual trial applies only when Apple confirms and displays the offer. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid conversion to the confirmed paid plan. Access follows Apple's verified expiry or revocation status. Buying Lifetime does not cancel a separate Annual subscription or trial; manage that subscription in Apple Account settings.
App Lock (Face ID / Touch ID) is a privacy feature available to all users at no cost. It is not a Pro feature.
The App is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any outcome of an audit, protest, or appeal, arising from your use of the App. Reference content may be incomplete or out of date and varies by state; verify everything with an official source.
The App is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"), as supplemented by these Terms. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content.
Product and agency names referenced in the App or its reference content are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and general information only. Their use does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.
We may update these Terms as the App changes. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the developer's state of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Deleting an audit case also deletes its certificates and sampling objections, including photos stored on those records, after a successful save. There is no Recently Deleted or full-database archive import; a generated PDF cannot reconstruct the deleted tree. Independently saved exports, original system media and earlier backups require separate management. A record deletion does not erase those copies.

An introductory free trial is available only when Apple confirms eligibility for the subscription group and an applicable offer exists. The updated paywall checks eligibility before presenting trial benefits; unknown or ineligible accounts use ordinary subscription language. Apple’s purchase sheet confirms the actual duration, localized price and billing period before payment. Unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription converts to the displayed paid plan. Trial access may end when canceled and follows Apple’s verified expiry or revocation. Older installed app versions may display earlier offer wording until updated.
The updated App pauses the normal record interface if its persistent database cannot be opened and only a temporary in-memory store is available. New recording and editing through that interface are blocked. The App keeps the existing database and attachment files rather than treating the temporary empty store as your archive. Database-dependent startup work in that interface is paused; previously scheduled reminders, widget snapshots or independent copies may remain.
Check available device storage, close and reopen the App, and contact support before deleting or reinstalling it. This recovery screen is not a backup, a repair guarantee or an automatic restoration of missing records. Older installed versions may behave differently until updated; publishing this document does not update an installed App.
The updated App checks audit-case, certificate and objection saves and deletion. Failure retains the original affected records, links and photo data, keeps the open form for retry, and does not roll back unrelated drafts. Invalid display-only amount text does not replace an existing amount. Open text entries and failed photo selections are held in memory until a successful write, not as restart-proof backups. New library selections are prepared as one batch; unreadable selections offer Retry or Clear, and failed writes offer Retry or Discard. Stored original photo data is not erased merely because an image preview cannot decode it.
A new certificate is saved as a placeholder before its editor opens and counts toward the free limit of 10 stored certificates per audit case. Cancel of a new certificate removes the row and its already-saved photos after a successful checked write; failure keeps it open. Photo additions/removals save independently from text. Cancel of an existing certificate discards current text edits but keeps saved photo changes. Opening a new sampling workbook also prepares a row; Cancel can clean an empty row but is not a draft-save command, and an interrupted session or canceled unsaved input can leave a placeholder. Review such rows in the case. Deleting a case cascades its certificates, attached photo data and objections after successful save; deleting one child leaves the other records. There is no Recently Deleted or archive import.
The evidence PDF includes case, certificate and objection text and decodable certificate photos. The protest-preparation checklist contains selected facts and steps, not the original photos or every workbook field. Neither output restores the original database or full record tree. Generated temporary PDFs, shared files, original system photos, Calendar copies and prior backups are separate from database deletion. The developer has no record archive. Reminder updates are attempted after successful case writes; a failed read can leave the prior plan, and scheduling/delivery is not guaranteed. Recorded dates and editable state-reference windows do not establish the legally correct starting event or filing deadline; verify the actual notice and authority process independently.
These changes require the updated App binary; publishing this document does not update an older installed App.
