ServeLog Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-05-11 · Last updated: 2026-05-11

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading or using ServeLog (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); references to "we," "us," and "our" mean that developer.

2. What ServeLog is — and is not

ServeLog is a personal records organizer for federal student loan borrowers in public service who are on a multi-year path to forgiveness. You enter information about your employment, monthly payments, Employment Certification Form (ECF) submissions, servicer count snapshots, servicer transitions, and Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) recertifications; the App helps you organize that record and generate PDF reports for your own use.

ServeLog is not a forgiveness application, not a forgiveness eligibility calculator, not financial advice, not tax advice, and not legal advice. We do not calculate forgiveness eligibility. We do not predict forgiveness amounts. We do not recommend repayment plans. We do not auto-fill any application. We do not connect to any servicer, the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, or any third party. ServeLog is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, MOHELA, or any loan servicer. Trademarks are property of their respective owners. For questions about your loan account, contact your servicer directly. For Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility, consult Federal Student Aid. For tax questions, consult a licensed tax professional. For legal questions, consult a qualified attorney.

3. Subscriptions and the Pro tier

3.1 Free tier

The App is free to download and use with the following limits: 1 employment record, up to 12 monthly payment entries, up to 3 servicer count snapshots, the basic Forgiveness Path Dashboard, the Face ID / Touch ID app lock, optional iCloud sync, and a Markdown summary export per record. The free tier does not include the Forgiveness Evidence Pack PDF, the ECF Submission Tracker, the Servicer Transition Log, the IDR Recertification Tracker, the 30-day Recently Deleted recovery, the Annual Tax Pack PDF, or the Forgiveness Anniversary Booklet PDF.

3.2 Pro subscription and Pro Lifetime

Pro features unlock when you start a Pro subscription or purchase Pro Lifetime. Three products are offered:

All three products unlock the same set of Pro features. Prices shown are USD; Apple displays the equivalent local price at purchase time.

3.3 Auto-renewal and billing

Subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before that end. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iOS device. Refunds for the unused portion of an active period are not offered by ServeLog; refund eligibility is determined solely by Apple under its published policies. Pro Lifetime is a one-time non-consumable purchase and is not subject to renewal.

3.4 Free trial forfeiture

If you start a free trial and cancel during the trial, you keep Pro access through the end of the trial period and are not charged. If you do not cancel, your subscription begins at the end of the trial at the published price.

3.5 Cloud storage (optional iCloud sync, free for every user)

ServeLog includes optional iCloud sync at no charge for every user, Free or Pro. Because ServeLog is a 10-year archive that cannot be reconstructed if a device is lost, sync defaults to ON; the toggle lives in Settings > iCloud sync. When sync is on, your archive is stored in your own private CloudKit database scoped to your Apple ID. We have no access to that database. Apple operates the storage and routing under its standard CloudKit terms. Disabling sync stops further syncing; existing CloudKit copies remain in your iCloud until you remove them via iOS Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage. The 30-day Recently Deleted recovery window (which protects against accidental deletes when sync is on) is a Pro feature; see §4 below.

4. Pro features

Pro provides the following features. The behavior described here is binding on us — if a future App update materially changes any of these descriptions, we will revise this section.

The following capabilities are available to all users (Free and Pro alike):

5. Your responsibilities

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, through Apple, for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost forgiveness, denied forgiveness applications, miscounted payments, lost servicer disputes, or lost financial recoveries. Reports generated by the App are tools for your use; we do not guarantee that any servicer, the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, an FSA Ombudsman, an attorney, or a court will accept them.

7. Apple End User License Agreement

Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for licensed applications, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms govern as between you and us; the Apple EULA governs as between you and Apple.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App on next launch. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
