Laterlace Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-06-21 · Last updated: 2026-06-21

In short. Laterlace is a personal keepsake app for writing letters to your future self, sealing the moment around them, and reading them later. It is a personal ritual, not professional advice. A single one-time purchase removes the free letter limit and adds the keepsake features — there is no subscription. Everything runs on your device.

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Laterlace ("the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F).

2. What Laterlace is

Laterlace is a lifestyle and keepsake app. You write a letter to your future self, seal it together with the context of the moment, choose a future date, and read it when that date arrives. It is intended for personal reflection and remembrance. It is not therapy, counseling, medical, legal, financial, or any other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for it. What you write, what you seal, and what you do with your letters is entirely your own.

3. Your letters live on your device

Laterlace stores your letters and everything sealed with them only on your iPhone, and collects no personal data. See the Privacy Policy for details. Because letters are kept on-device, they can be lost if you delete the app or lose the device without a backup. You are responsible for your own device backups; the developer cannot recover data stored only on your device. The optional keepsake PDF export (see section 4) is provided so you can keep a readable copy of your letters elsewhere.

4. The one-time purchase

Laterlace is free to use for up to three sealed letters, with the full sealing ritual, context capture, and vault. The optional in-app purchase described below is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed by Apple. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge. Purchases are subject to Apple's standard terms; pricing and availability are shown at the point of sale.

To restore a previous purchase on a new or reset device, use "Restore Purchase" on the unlock screen while signed in to the Apple ID used for the original purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, not by the developer.

5. Acceptable use

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to reverse-engineer the app except to the extent permitted by law. The writing prompts and other built-in text content are original and protected by intellectual-property rights owned by the developer; your own letters and content remain yours.

6. No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including any warranty that letters will be preserved, deliverable, or recoverable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of letters or other data stored only on your device. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

7. Changes

These Terms may be updated as the app evolves; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in an app update. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
