Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 16, 2026

MenoLog is a private journal for tracking menopause and perimenopause symptoms. Your privacy is the reason this app exists — what you record here is personal, and it stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what MenoLog does with the information you enter.

Data We Collect

None that leaves your phone. MenoLog has no user account system, no login, no analytics, and no servers.

Data Stored Locally On Your Device

When you use MenoLog, the following is saved only on your iPhone or iPad:

This information is stored inside a private app container on your device using Apple SwiftData. It is not transmitted, backed up to our servers, or shared with us. It may be included in your iPhone's iCloud device backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled — that is Apple's backup system, not ours.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you enable the Apple Health integration (a Pro feature), MenoLog requests read-only access to your sleep analysis, step count, and active energy data. This data is read in short summaries (per-day totals and averages) so MenoLog can help you see patterns between your sleep, activity, and symptoms. MenoLog never writes to HealthKit, and HealthKit data never leaves your device.

Permissions

In-App Purchases

MenoLog offers an optional Pro subscription via Apple's StoreKit. All billing and subscription management is handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment information or Apple ID. We receive only Apple's receipt of your entitlement in order to unlock Pro features on your device.

Third Parties

MenoLog does not use any third-party SDKs except Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases and Apple's HealthKit for the optional health integration. We do not integrate with analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash reporting services.

Sharing & Export

MenoLog provides a Doctor Report (PDF) and a CSV export. Both are generated on your device and are only shared when you explicitly use iOS's share sheet to send them somewhere (email, message, AirDrop, etc.). You decide where they go and who sees them.

Children's Privacy

MenoLog is intended for adults managing their own menopause or perimenopause experience. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Medical Disclaimer

MenoLog is a personal journal, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.
