Using Threadline
Terms of Use

These terms describe your use of Threadline, provided by the independent developer identified in its App Store listing (Apple Developer Team ID: ZM8LF8494F). “We” and “us” refer to that developer. Contact: captainlongevity@gmail.com.
1. Agreement and purpose
By downloading or using Threadline, you agree to these app-specific terms and the applicable Apple terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must meet applicable age requirements and have the legal capacity, or legally required permission, to use it.
Threadline is a private, single-user relationship journal and personal organization tool. It is not a dating or matching platform, background-check service, location tracker, medical or mental-health service, legal service, or emergency service.
Timelines, Private Briefs, and Insights summarize the information you choose to record. They are descriptive, not professional advice, diagnoses, causal findings, or proof about another person. Threadline does not determine whether a person is safe, truthful, compatible, or suitable for a relationship.
Custom metrics and stage-duration summaries describe your recorded experience, not a score or recommendation about another person. Sample Preview is a separate, read-only fictional walkthrough and does not create real journal records.
2. Your content and responsibilities
Your journal content remains yours, subject to the rights of other people. The app processes it locally at your direction; these terms do not grant us a right to publish it, sell it, or use it to train AI models.
You are responsible for what you enter, keep, copy, export, or share. Use aliases where appropriate and avoid unnecessary sensitive identifiers. Only store information you are lawfully entitled to keep.
- Do not use Threadline to harass, threaten, defame, unlawfully monitor, or violate another person's privacy or rights.
- Do not interfere with purchase verification, bypass access controls, or misuse the app in violation of law.
- Do not present app summaries as a professional assessment or a guarantee of a relationship or safety outcome.
- Keep your device, passcode, and exported copies secure.
3. Local storage, exports, and loss of access
Threadline has no account-based journal backend, CloudKit sync, or developer-held copy of your journal. Data may be lost if the app is deleted, the device is lost, erased, or replaced, the device-only encryption key becomes unavailable, or a device or software failure occurs. We cannot recover your journal or encryption key from a server.
Readable JSON and CSV-package exports contain plain-text information, are not encrypted backups, and cannot be imported as a journal. Their protection depends on where you store them and who can access them.
The separate encrypted-backup feature creates a password-protected .threadlinebackup file. Before deletion, device changes, or major troubleshooting, save a backup outside the app and verify that saved file. You are responsible for keeping the file and its password safe and separate. We cannot recover a forgotten backup password, retrieve a backup you did not save, or reconstruct changes made after that backup.
Restoring a validated backup requires its password and your confirmation after reviewing its contents. Restore replaces rather than merges the destination journal; save and verify the destination's own backup first if you need to keep it. App Lock and appearance preferences and App Store purchase access are not imported. Reminders depend on the destination's notification permission and future dates. Restoring a Pro purchase restores eligible feature access, not journal content.
Protected previous-journal copies may remain on the device after restore. Erase All Data removes those copies and their local keys; exported files and provider copies must be deleted separately. Ordinary device backups are not a substitute for a verified Threadline encrypted backup. The Privacy Policy explains storage and external copies in more detail.
4. App Lock and security
App Lock, iOS data protection, and on-device encryption for sensitive private text reduce certain risks but do not guarantee absolute security. Searchable fields, such as aliases, are not separately encrypted at the application layer. App Lock does not protect content you copy, screenshot, export, share, or make available through authorized device access.
App Lock uses Face ID or Touch ID without an in-app passcode fallback. Sensitive operations from an unlocked session may separately use device-owner authentication, including a passcode. If biometric access is unavailable, follow the app's Settings guidance; do not uninstall the app as a way to resolve a lock issue.
You are responsible for choosing suitable device, notification, and export settings. Do not rely on Threadline as an emergency or personal-safety system.
5. Free and Pro features
Current free-tier creation limits, Pro features, available products, and prices are displayed in the app before purchase. Pro may be offered as monthly or annual subscriptions or a one-time lifetime unlock. Availability and prices may vary by App Store territory.
When a subscription expires, free-tier limits apply to new content creation. Existing journal content remains available to read, edit, export, and delete. App Lock, exports, and deletion do not require Pro. We do not intentionally delete your journal solely because Pro access ends.
6. Subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds
Apple processes purchases using your App Store account. The purchase screen shows the applicable price, billing period, and any offer conditions. No trial or introductory offer is promised unless it is shown to you before purchase.
- Payment is charged through Apple when you confirm a purchase, subject to any displayed offer terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled in accordance with Apple's then-current rules. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; Apple may process the renewal charge during that final 24-hour window.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting Threadline or erasing journal data does not cancel a subscription. See Apple's cancellation instructions.
- After cancellation, access generally continues until the paid period ends, subject to Apple's rules and any refund or revocation.
- Refund requests are handled through Apple, with eligibility determined under its policies and applicable law. See Apple's refund instructions. We cannot promise a refund or issue one outside the applicable purchase process.
Use Restore Purchases in the app with the Apple Account used for the purchase to check eligible entitlements. Price changes, renewal notices, billing, and regional cancellation rights remain subject to Apple's terms and applicable law.
7. Lifetime purchase
A lifetime unlock, when offered, is a one-time, non-consumable purchase for the supported lifetime of Threadline and the Pro features described at purchase. It is not an auto-renewing subscription.
“Lifetime” does not promise perpetual app availability, support for every future operating system, or inclusion of separately developed products, platforms, or services. This does not limit rights or remedies that applicable law gives you.
8. Availability and changes
We may provide updates and fixes or change app availability as technology, platform requirements, or legal obligations evolve. Features may depend on your device and operating system. No software is error-free, and compatibility cannot be guaranteed for every future device or system version.
Updates do not remove your mandatory consumer rights. Create and verify an encrypted backup before major troubleshooting or device changes. Readable exports may be useful for reference but cannot be imported as a journal.
9. License, warranties, liability, and consumer rights
The app's software, design, and supplied materials belong to the developer or its licensors. Your license to use the app, restrictions on that license, and the applicable warranty, liability, termination, and governing-law provisions are set out in Apple's Standard EULA.
These app-specific terms do not replace that EULA or create a separate exclusive forum, arbitration requirement, or monetary liability cap. If there is a conflict on app-license matters, the Standard EULA applies, subject to mandatory law.
Nothing here excludes or limits rights, warranties, remedies, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory protections in your country of residence. Threadline does not warrant a particular relationship, therapeutic, medical, legal, or safety outcome.
10. Ending use
You may stop using Threadline at any time. You can delete journal content using the app's controls and remove the app from your device. Treat deletion as irreversible. Erase All Data also removes on-device restore-recovery copies; external exports, encrypted backups, and diagnostic files must be deleted separately.
If you have a subscription, cancel it separately through Apple. License termination and purchase remedies remain subject to the Standard EULA, applicable Apple terms, and mandatory law.
