Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 16, 2026

CareLog is a family caregiver journal designed to help adult children and spouses track medications, appointments, and daily health observations for aging loved ones. Your privacy — and the privacy of the person you are caring for — is the reason this app exists. This policy explains exactly what happens with the information you enter.

Data We Collect

None that leaves your phone. CareLog has no user account system, no login, no analytics, and no servers.

Data Stored Locally On Your Device

When you use CareLog, the following is saved only on your iPhone or iPad:

This information is stored inside a private app container on your device using Apple SwiftData. It is not transmitted, backed up to our servers, or shared with us. It may be included in your iPhone's iCloud device backup if you have iCloud Backup enabled — that is Apple's backup system, not ours.

Permissions

In-App Purchases

CareLog offers an optional Pro subscription via Apple's StoreKit. All billing and subscription management is handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment information or Apple ID. We receive only Apple's receipt of your entitlement in order to unlock Pro features on your device.

Third Parties

CareLog does not use any third-party SDKs except Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases. We do not integrate with analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash reporting services.

Sharing & Export

CareLog provides an Export feature that lets you generate a PDF report or CSV files of your data. These files are created on your device and are only shared when you explicitly use iOS's share sheet to send them somewhere (email, message, AirDrop, etc.). You decide where they go.

Children's Privacy

CareLog is intended for adults caring for family members. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Medical Disclaimer

CareLog is a personal care journal, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
