By downloading or using Peoplebox (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple device you own or control, subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
The Peoplebox-only contact profiles, notes, tags, and follow-ups you create belong to you. They are stored locally on your device; we do not access, read, or back them up. A local profile requires a name and may include a phone number, email, company and job title. You are responsible for information you choose to enter or share.
You can use Peoplebox-only contacts without Contacts permission. Connecting iPhone Contacts is optional and read-only: Peoplebox never creates, edits or deletes entries in your system address book. Local profiles are separate from system contacts, with no automatic linking or merging. Editing or deleting a local profile does not change iPhone Contacts.
The updated Pro page offers two options that unlock the same Pro feature set:
Existing Pro Monthly subscriptions remain supported and can be restored and managed through Apple. Older installed versions may show earlier purchase options. No existing purchase identifier or price is changed by this page update. Before you confirm payment, Apple displays the product, current localized price, billing period and any eligible introductory offer. Apple's confirmation controls the purchase terms; payment is processed by Apple.
A Lifetime purchase grants Peoplebox Pro access without a scheduled subscription expiry. A refunded or revoked purchase no longer provides access. Use Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for purchase to recheck a restorable Lifetime entitlement.
The subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Apple may charge for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. To prevent the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the period or trial ends. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions; Apple provides cancellation instructions. Deleting Peoplebox does not cancel a subscription.
Use Restore Purchases while signed into the purchasing Apple Account to check verified eligible access. Pending or unverified transactions do not establish paid access. Refund requests are handled through Apple under its policies and applicable law. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights.
A free trial or introductory price applies only when Apple confirms eligibility and displays the offer at purchase. The purchase sheet specifies the duration and the price charged afterward. An eligible trial converts to the displayed paid subscription unless canceled in time. Access after cancellation follows Apple's applicable terms. Lifetime purchases do not automatically renew and are not subscription trials.
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law.
Calling, email and Send Message are available without Pro for contacts with the relevant accessible details. Send Message passes your selected phone number to Apple's system message composer on a device configured for messaging. You decide what to write and must choose to send. Peoplebox cannot read SMS or iMessage history, send silently, or guarantee message delivery. System and carrier terms and any message charges apply. Opening or sending a message does not automatically log an interaction or mark a follow-up completed.
The App is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted. Your private relationship records are stored locally and you are responsible for backing up your device. User-initiated communication and exports are handled separately by the system services or destinations you choose, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including data loss.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where you reside, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Free supports up to 20 managed relationship records, counting Peoplebox-only contact profiles and system contacts with saved private records together. Browsing a system contact without saving a Peoplebox record does not count. Existing records can still be viewed, edited and deleted if Pro expires. Creating another record beyond the limit requires Pro. Unlimited contacts, custom tag creation and Smart Groups require Pro. App Lock, the Home Screen widget, CSV export and all follow-up reminder intervals are free in the updated version. Older saved reminders keep their intervals until edited. The App only schedules future reminder times, and iOS permission, Focus, background scheduling and notification limits can affect delivery; do not rely on it for time-critical obligations.
App Lock can allow a five-minute grace period after successful authentication. Cancelling authentication leaves the App locked for explicit retry; an unavailable authentication method is not a bypass. Purchase-interface inactivity alone does not relock. App Lock does not hide notification previews, widget snapshots or exported files. Contact, note, follow-up, tag and group editor drafts are held in memory until Save; Cancel discards the draft. A local-contact draft remains in memory while the Pro page is opened and closed, not as a saved backup. Settings preferences save when changed.
Export Contact Summary includes supported contact, note-history and follow-up fields in readable, unencrypted CSV. It also identifies the contact source and includes phone/email entered for Peoplebox-only contacts; system-contact phone/email fields are not populated in those CSV columns. A temporary export file can remain locally until iOS purges it; shared copies are handled by the destination you choose. It is not a complete restorable backup and the current interface has no full-backup import, merge or replacement mode.
Delete Contact, or swipe Delete on a Peoplebox-only contact, permanently deletes the entire local profile including its entered phone/email/company/job details, tag assignments and linked notes/follow-ups through cascade deletion. Deleted local contacts do not enter Hidden People and cannot be restored there. For a system contact, Delete All Data removes its Peoplebox parent record and linked history; removing that person from the People list additionally saves its name/identifier in Hidden People. Unhiding only restores visibility, not deleted history. Successful deletion attempts cancellation of pending follow-up reminders; a failed save restores the affected record graph, preserves unrelated pending edits and reports the failure.
These actions never change the Apple Contacts person and do not wipe global tag definitions, other contacts, settings, hidden system-contact names/identifiers, reminder-reservation preferences, delivered notifications, temporary exports, shared files or existing device backups. The widget may retain an older snapshot until refreshed. There is no in-app trash, parent-only recovery or child/media recovery archive. Keep any usable completed device backup and exported copies you need. System recovery is not guaranteed and Restore Purchases restores access rather than contact records or notes.
The updated App checks profile, note, follow-up, tag and group writes, reordering and confirmed deletion. A failed write keeps original stored fields and linked history, preserves unrelated pending edits and reports the failure. Note and follow-up editors close only after their saving callback succeeds; current text, date and reminder-time entries stay in the open form for retry. Tag selection updates its displayed selection only after a successful save. These are memory-held drafts, not restart-proof recovery copies. First saving private information about a system contact can independently create its Peoplebox relationship profile before the note or follow-up save; if that later save fails, the saved profile can remain and counts toward the managed-contact limit. Retrying uses the same profile instead of recreating it. Failed profile lookups or count reads are not treated as an empty successful collection. New local profiles retain their original identifiers when edited and no operation here writes to Apple Contacts.
Pending follow-up reminders are canceled only after successful deletion of the relevant follow-up or its parent Peoplebox record. Failed database deletion preserves the original graph and earlier reminder plan. Notification scheduling remains separate from the database commit; iOS can refuse, delay or retain a reminder and database success does not guarantee delivery or immediate removal. New follow-up authorization returns to the current saved record, so a follow-up removed while permission is being requested is not deliberately rescheduled from a stale model. Default tags and groups use checked, retryable preparation; failure does not leave partially inserted default rows. Failed widget reads keep the previous snapshot. Deleting a global tag definition does not erase contact history or automatically rewrite raw tag references and saved smart-group filter criteria; a group may keep a missing-tag criterion rather than silently broaden its matches. Settings CSV export and manual stale checks report a failed read or export instead of claiming an empty success. No complete backup import, system-contact write, message sending or entitlement change is added.
These changes require the updated App binary. Publishing this document does not update older installed versions.
