By downloading or using Smokeplan (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); "we," "us," and "our" mean that developer.
Smokeplan is a personal planning and recordkeeping tool for backyard barbecue. You enter a cook — cut, weight, pit temperature, wrap intention, target temperature, rest length, and a serve time — and the App builds a backward schedule of milestones (thaw, brine, light the pit, meat on, the expected stall window, pull, rest, slice), offers optional local reminders, refines a live time-remaining estimate from internal-temperature waypoints you log during the cook, and keeps a journal of your completed cooks that tunes a personal estimate over time.
The App is free to download and use, with the following included and never gated: planning the three hero cuts (brisket, pork butt, baby backs) with the full backward timeline and milestone notifications, Live Cook Mode with temperature waypoints and the live ETA, the rest and hold timer, and five cooks in the journal.
Pro features unlock when you start a Pro subscription or complete the Lifetime purchase. Three products are offered:
All three products unlock the identical Pro feature set. Prices shown are USD; Apple displays the equivalent local price at purchase time. A promotional launch price may apply to the Lifetime product for a limited period after release.
The Annual and Monthly subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before that end. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iOS device. Refunds for the unused portion of an active period are not offered by us; refund eligibility is determined solely by Apple under its published policies. The Lifetime purchase is a single charge with no recurring billing.
If you start the 7-day free trial on Annual and cancel during the trial, you keep Pro access through the end of the trial and are not charged. If you do not cancel, your subscription begins at the end of the trial at the published price.
Pro provides the following features. The behavior described here is binding on us — if a future App update materially changes any of these descriptions, we will revise this section.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us, through Apple, for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including spoiled or undercooked food, foodborne illness, ruined cooks, wasted ingredients, missed serve times, or equipment damage. Forecasts, live estimates, and reference figures are tools for your use; we do not guarantee any cooking, timing, or safety outcome.
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for licensed applications, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms govern as between you and us; the Apple EULA governs as between you and Apple.
Any organization, agency, or product names referenced in the App or in this document — including the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) — belong to their respective holders. Smokeplan is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any listed entity, or with any grill, smoker, or thermometer manufacturer.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the App on next launch. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property rights.
