Startline Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-07-03 · Last updated 2026-07-03

In one breath: Startline keeps everything you write — your dumps, tasks, sessions, breadcrumbs, and time history — on your iPhone and nowhere else. There is no Startline account, no Startline server, and no analytics. The only time the app talks to the network is to ask Apple whether your Startline Plus purchase is active.

The publisher

Startline is made by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F). Questions about privacy go to captainlongevity@gmail.com.

Is there a Startline account or server?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no server that holds your data. Your brain dumps, the one thing you picked, your focus sessions, breadcrumbs, time estimates, Momentum, and any custom ramps you save all live in the app's local store on your iPhone. The developer cannot see, restore, or move them.

Does Startline sync to iCloud?

No. This version does not use CloudKit or any cross-device sync, and does not declare the iCloud entitlement. Your Startline data is included in your normal iOS Backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) when you have those turned on — that is Apple's standard backup behavior for everything on your device, not a Startline copy of your data.

Do you collect analytics or an advertising identifier?

No. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, and no third-party code of any kind in the app. The developer does not know how often you open Startline, how many sessions you start, or whether you upgraded — beyond Apple's own aggregate sales reports.

How are ramps and your time profile produced?

Entirely on your iPhone. Ramps are matched to your task from a built-in, rules-based library of text templates. Your time-calibration multipliers are computed on-device from the guesses and actual times you record. None of this is sent anywhere, and no artificial-intelligence service is contacted.

What about the focus noise?

Focus noise is generated on your device by Apple's audio engine. No audio files are downloaded, nothing is recorded, and the microphone is never used for it.

Permissions

Startline requests no microphone, no camera, no photo library, no location, no HealthKit, no Calendar, no contacts, and no Face ID permission. You can change the notification permission any time in iOS Settings > Startline.

Subscriptions and StoreKit

Startline Plus is optional (a one-time Lifetime purchase, plus annual and monthly subscriptions) sold through Apple's StoreKit. When you buy, restore, or when the app checks your entitlement, your device talks directly to Apple. Startline receives only whether the purchase is active. It never sees your Apple Account, payment method, or billing details, which are governed by Apple's own privacy terms.

What Startline is not

Startline is a productivity tool designed for ADHD brains. It is not a medical device, not therapy, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. Its suggestions — ramps, time hints, and momentum — are general productivity aids, not professional advice. If you need clinical support, please talk to a licensed professional.

Children

Startline is made for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Keeping and deleting your data

Because everything lives only on your device, you are in full control. To remove all Startline data, delete the app (and remove it from any iOS Backups you keep). There is no remote copy for anyone to delete.

Where this applies

Startline is published in English for the United States. It does not transfer your data across borders because it does not transfer your data anywhere.

Changes

If a future release ever changes how the app handles data — for example, if a later version introduces any sync, analytics, or third-party integration — this policy will be updated and the change surfaced in the app before that feature becomes available.
