1. Accepting these terms

By downloading or using Startline ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is published by an independent iOS developer (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F).

2. What Startline does

Startline helps you capture tasks, choose one, break it into a short first step, run a focus session, leave a breadcrumb if you are interrupted, and review how your time estimates compare to reality. Everything runs on your device.

3. Not medical or professional advice

Startline is a general wellness and productivity tool. It is not a medical device, not therapy, and not a substitute for professional care. It does not diagnose, treat, or manage any condition, and its ramps, time hints, and momentum are general suggestions only. If you need clinical support, consult a licensed professional.

4. Free tier and Startline Plus

The core of Startline is free forever: unlimited brain dumps and focus sessions, Pick One, the first ten ramps and the universal three-step fallback, one active breadcrumb, fourteen days of time calibration, and Momentum. Startline Plus is an optional upgrade that unlocks the following features:

• Full ramp library and custom ramps: Plus subscribers can match tasks to all 50 built-in ramps and save their own. Ramps are rules-based text templates generated on device; they are general suggestions, not professional advice.
• Full time-calibration profile: Plus keeps the complete estimate-vs-actual history you generate and computes personal time multipliers per task type. All calculations run on device from data you entered.
• Unlimited breadcrumbs: Plus removes the one-active-breadcrumb limit. Breadcrumbs are stored locally and record only the task, step, and an optional short note you write.
• Focus noise: Audio is generated on device by AVAudioEngine. No audio files are downloaded and no network calls are made. It mixes with other audio and stops when the session ends.
• Widgets and App Intents: Rendered on device by WidgetKit and App Intents. They read only data you have already entered, via an App Group shared container, and make no network calls.
• Ambient time signals: Optional haptic and chime cues delivered on device during a session via Core Haptics. No data leaves the device.
• Extra-low-stimulation theme: A visual appearance option. No functional difference to your data.
• Someday drawer search: Filters the locally stored items you have set aside. The query never leaves the device.

5. Purchases, billing, and renewal

Startline Plus is offered as a one-time Lifetime purchase and as auto-renewing Annual and Monthly subscriptions, sold through Apple's App Store. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.

• The Annual subscription includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
• You manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings.
• The Lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that does not renew.

Purchases can be restored with Restore Purchases on the paywall. All billing is handled by Apple; the developer never receives your payment details.

6. Your data

All content you create stays on your device. The developer has no access to it and provides no server-side storage, sync, or recovery. If you delete the app without an iOS Backup, that content is gone. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Acceptable use

Use Startline for your own personal task management. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app in ways that violate the App Store terms or applicable law.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any missed task, deadline, or outcome. Startline is a tool to help you start; the work is yours.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the app.
