By downloading or using Wheelwright, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms are between you and the independent developer that publishes Wheelwright (Apple Developer Team ID ZM8LF8494F); they are not a contract with Apple.
Wheelwright helps you calculate spoke lengths, plan lacing patterns, set and record spoke tension, and keep a permanent record of the wheels you build. It is a reference and recordkeeping tool. It is not affiliated with any component manufacturer, tool maker, or standards body. It does not certify that any wheel is safe, strong, or fit for any purpose, and it provides no warranty on any wheel you build.
Wheelwright bundles no component database. The hub and rim figures are the ones you enter or save yourself, from a caliper measurement or a manufacturer spec; real components vary by production batch, so any value you measure overrides a saved or entered value. Borderline spoke lengths are flagged, and radial lacing on a disc or drive-side flange is warned, but these aids do not replace your own measurement and judgment. You are responsible for verifying every critical dimension by measurement before cutting spokes and for the wheels you build.
All data you enter stays on your device (SwiftData). There is no account and no Wheelwright server. Your records are included in your standard iOS Backups when those are enabled. If you delete the app without a backup, your data is permanently lost. The developer has no copy and cannot recover it.
Wheelwright is free to download and includes, at no cost and with no time limit: the manual-entry spoke-length calculator with full formula sheets, both measurement helpers (ERD two-spoke, PCD chord), up to two saved builds, one tensiometer tool profile, and one tension snapshot per build. The core calculate-lace-tension workflow is fully usable on the free tier.
An optional Pro purchase unlocks the following. One purchase of any Pro product unlocks all of them.
Pro is offered as a one-time Lifetime purchase and as auto-renewing Annual and Monthly subscriptions, sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Prices are shown in the app. The Annual subscription includes a free trial for new subscribers; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid term. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The Lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable unlock with no recurring charge. Purchases can be restored on any device signed in with the same Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID; billing is handled entirely by Apple.
Wheelwright provides no engineering, safety, or professional advice and makes no representation that a wheel built with its help will be safe or suitable for any use. Wheelbuilding involves risk; a mis-cut spoke or an over- or under-tensioned wheel can fail. Use the app as one aid among your own tools, measurements, and expertise.
Use the app for lawful personal or professional wheelbuilding. Do not attempt to decompile, resell, or misrepresent the app, and do not rely on it as a substitute for your own inspection and judgment.
The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any damage, injury, or loss arising from a wheel built with the app's assistance or from any inaccuracy in a computed or reference value. Your remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the app.
These Terms may be updated as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the app.
